Angela + Adam | Beverly Hills Courthouse Wedding Photographer

Angela and Adam were married today in a beautiful wedding ceremony witnessed by family and friends at the historic Beverly Hills Courthouse.  I love courthouse weddings — they’re among the most romantic and intimate kinds of weddings, and the Beverly Hills Courthouse is one of the best places in all of Los Angeles to get married.

But let’s back up to the turtles.

The day started with a First Look at Will Rogers Park in Beverly Hills, a beautiful park near the Beverly Hills Courthouse that’s an ideal place to do wedding photos.

Even though Will Rogers Park is in the middle of Beverly Hills, it’s a beautiful haven for urban wildlife.  While I waited for the bride’s arrival, I noticed a cute little family of turtles playing in the fountain — a daddy, mommy and baby turtles, with one of the baby turtles sunbathing on mama’s back!  Nearby, a gorgeous white egret lounged in the grass. Both the happy turtle family and the majestic white egret seemed to me to be good omens for the happiness of the bride & groom.

Soon, Angela arrived, wearing a beautiful short white wedding dress, with gorgeous purple sequined Badgley Mischka shoes and a purple wedding bouquet.  One of the best things about courthouse weddings, particularly in fashionable Beverly Hills, is the wedding fashion — I love seeing all the different choices that brides make, from ultra-formal and traditional to short and stylishly chic like Angela.

For her “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” Angela wrapped a handkerchief with blue flowers & a purple satin sash, both given to her by friends, around her bouquet.

Time for a quick (and very fun and romantic) First Look.

On to the Beverly Hills Courthouse for a few more photos before the wedding ceremony.

Time for the wedding ceremony, which started with a traditional walk down the aisle for the bride (complete with music) — something a lot a brides don’t realize they can include in their courthouse wedding ceremony.  Just because it’s a courthouse wedding doesn’t mean you can’t include traditions that you love.  The people who work at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, and especially the volunteer officiants, are always happy to help make your ceremony unique and special.

I especially loved the ray of sunlight that came through the window just as Angela and Adam kissed under the archway!

Angela and Adam chose to do their wedding portraits at Vista del Mar Beach, a beautiful (and very un-crowded) little beach) south of Marina del Rey.

One of the benefits to courthouse weddings is that there’s lots of time to choose a unique location for wedding portraits, and because courthouse weddings are on weekdays, even the more popular locations for photos tend to be a lot less crowded.  That meant lots of time and privacy for the newlyweds to play in the waves together!

And then time for the new Mr. and Mrs. to go celebrate with friends and family.
